Tuckshop Cook

Casual – approx. 9 hours per week (school term only)

Are you someone who loves creating fresh, tasty food and enjoys the buzz of a school tuckshop? We're looking for a Tuckshop Cook to prepare a range of sweet and savoury items that keep our students well-fed and happy throughout the school week.
This role is hands‑on, practical, and perfect for someone who thrives in a busy kitchen and values quality, safety, and organisation.

The successful candidate will:

- Bake and cook sweet and savoury items in bulk for the school tuckshop
- Follow all food safety regulations and maintain excellent hygiene standards in the kitchen and personally
- Check, record, rotate and store deliveries and stock correctly
- Maintain temperature records and accurate documentation as required
- Assist with new food products, menu ideas and tuckshop projects
- Liaise with the Finance Officer regarding ordering and financial matters
- Perform additional reasonable duties as required by management  

Required skills & experience:

- Food Safety Supervisor qualification (essential)
- Experience as a cook/chef, or relevant hospitality/food industry experience
- Experience in bulk cooking or catering (school or similar environment)
- Knowledge of food safety standards, hygiene procedures, and dietary requirements (essential)
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills
- Excellent attention to detail and good communication skills
- Professional, punctual, and confident in your role
- Current Working with Children Blue Card (or ability to obtain)
- Current driver’s licence (Class C or equivalent)
- Current First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain
